ABOUT US - History
Baldy View Regional Occupational Program
Baldy View Regional Occupational Program is a California public school agency that provides career technical education programs and services. It was established in November of 1972 as a result of a Joint Powers Agreement between the Chaffey Joint Union High School, Chino Valley Unified, Claremont Unified, and Upland Unified School Districts.
The purpose of Baldy View ROP is to create a job and career preparation delivery system that serves all students, high school and adult, offering a wider variety of courses to a greater number of students than can be offered efficiently or economically through a single district.
Baldy View ROP classes are held at various training locations such as high schools, community colleges, private businesses, individual sites, and community facilities. ROP provides students an opportunity to experience a realistic working environment in cooperation with local business and industry. For that reason, it is so important that the businesses work closely with the teachers and students.
Baldy View ROP is part of a statewide network of 73 Regional Occupational Centers and Programs which began to develop in 1967. Statewide, more than 450,000 students enroll annually in ROP courses to better prepare themselves for the world of work and advanced training. Baldy View ROP is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
